A zoom gallery with multiple navigation methods.

Navigation Methods:
  • Drag the picture to a side to navigate. A single click will cause a zoom out
  • Use the buttons above to scroll
  • Press on the sides of the pictures to scroll to
  • Use your keyboard arrows to navigate and press space to zoom out
Customizable Options (by XML ):
  • background color
  • (company) name
  • image smoothing on/off (is set off in this preview)
  • explenation on/off
  • image border thickness
  • image border color
  • image horizontal and vertical spacing
  • image maximum width and height
  • info per image (optional)
  • link per image (optional)
  • add as many albums you like
  • add as many pictures you like (jpg, png, swf)
Extra Features
  • Organized and commented code
  • Pictures are being loaded one by one in order, so no loading screens
  • When info or link is not filled in for an image, the info or link buttons won’t be clickable
  • Description text adapts to the width of an image, so multiple lines of description possible

I don’t understand exactly what the problem is… you can scroll up/down/left/right so you can get to all the images. So could you please explain your problem some more? thanks

i didn’t see a comment for this yet.

my xml has thumbnail and bigImage for every picture. but in the application only the thumbnails load. i never see a big picture. if i leave out the thumbnails from the xml then then bigImage loads as thumbnail and large pic.

shouldn’t the thumbnail load for the thumbnails and the bigImage load for the large pic?

I think you made a mistake or mixed up xml files from an other file or something. The xml only contains a bigImage tag. If you download it again, you can see for yourself. :)

i just downloaded it again: flashden_zoom-gallery-xml_9053.zip

the info.txt file says this (ln 22):

you can see: thumbs/yourpicurename.jpg images/yourpicurename.jpg

got the answer tho – so thx lol

hmm, I didn’t check that. Must be a mistake in the info file then…Anyway it just uses the big images also as thumbnails.

yes, but you have to change some things. You could put the image in the background movieclip and delete the code for the color changing.

dont worry, i got the file..

I have question though, im trying to put a image in the background that scales in proportion to the browser width and height however once i put:

Stage.align = “TL”;

it throws off everything.. is there a way to fix this?

@Chuck2007 – you should allign the background by your in the resize function in the code. Look at the other things which are alligned I hope you understand how to allign your bg too. The file is not made for TL.

One quick question:

Why can’t I change the title and description of the images? -I mean I changed them on the xml on the corresponding field but it always says “Title” and under it “description”.

hey man. Nice file, question for you. How do I change the thumbnail amount to be 4×4 v. 5×5 therefore making 16 images per page and bring them in close together? I managed to make them 4×4 but then that screws up the total amount the code is looking for. suggestions? Thanks in advance.

@akurupt36 – I’m sorry but this file is made for 5×5, if you want to make it 4×4 you have to change a lot of things. So I don’t know how to do exactly, I can look into it for you for freelance if you want it…

Thanks man. I figured it out though. Not to much to change. Just gotta know what I guess. I still got one issue, when the image zooms in to the large one, how do I add a dropShadow to that new movie clip? I added one to the thumbnails but cant figure the other one out. Whats the instance name? Thanks man.

@akurupt36 – this gallery doesn’t have thumbnails. the big images are scaled down, so they are the same as the “thumbnails”.

right. thats what i think i meant to say. I added dropShadows on the scaled down versions, but when they scale up the shadow goes away. what should i do to keep it there? thanks man. appreciate the feedback.

Hello BigZ! you mind is great…. but i have a question about your gallery… how can i load zoomgallery.swl using a empty mc from my main movie?? Change me it the properties of stage….

My main movie has:

Stage.align = “TL”; Stage.scaleMode = “noscale”;

and when i load zoomGallery.swf the buttons for change de page in your gallery change the posittion.

sorry for my english for all readers… i´m spanish.

Hello BigZ,

This gallery looks incredible and functions with ease. Impressive!

I’m curious what type of images the gallery accepts? Does it only accept .JPG, or can it utilize vector formats (.AI or .SVG), .SWF, etc?

If not, I’d be curious if this is something you might be willing to freelance?

I have .swf with interaction. When I putting this .swf into the gallery, actions inside .swf are blocked (by zoom out function I suppose). Is it possible to have both or at least to have interactions inside .swf?

Great job!

I want to buy it, I just have a couple of questions:

Is it completely customizable? I want to use it on a project and I want to know if I can:

· Change color, character and position of the buttons

· Assign starting position of the gallery. I want the gallery to interact with other elements on my project, so I need it to be located, for example, on the left side of the screen intead of always being on the center. I think I can achieve this by loading the swf into a movieclip, is that right?

· Disable fullscreen mode

· You can load swf files, but can you have buttons in this swf? I ask you this because right now if you click on the image, the gallery zooms-out, so I want to know if I can have interaction with my swf and put this zoom-out action if clicking outside the image or in a button.

· Can I call an specific info (a movieclip or swf) depending on the image or swf chosen? What I want is to add extra interactive info, not just text. I believe I can achieve this by calling the number value of the image according to it’s position (the fifth image calls the file “5.swf”, for example), is this possible?

Sirs:

We have purchased the script recently and found that when the .SWF file is played directly in the player by pressing CTRL +ENTER it is perfect.

However while running the .SWF file individually outside the player, it shows white patches above and below the screen height and doesn’t follow the positioning of the stage height.

Please advice.
