XML Slideshow with Masking Transitions
This is a slideshow tool. It’s very easy to use. Just drag&drop to stage, change properties and the slideshow is ready to be used. It can be used as a banner rotator, a header, or a image slideshow.

What properties can you change from the XML file?
  1. Size settings
    • width of the image rotator
    • height of the image rotator
  2. Transition settings
    • shapes array(you can choose to use only one shape, or use multiple random shapes)
    • number of shapes(possible values are: 1,2,4,8,16,24,36,64)
    • how many shapes are in a column
    • how many shapes are in a row
    • transition time
    • transition easing
    • slideshow time
  3. Graphical Timer Bar settings
    • timer on/off
    • timer color
    • timer height
    • timer opacity
  4. Preloader Bar settings
    • preloader on/off
    • preloader color
    • preloader height
    • preloader opacity
  5. Button settings
    • next/previous buttons on/off
    • play/pause buttons on/off
    • buttons opacity
    • ‘show buttons only on rollover’ on/off
You can modify the graphics of the next/previous buttons. You can also add your own shapes. Video help about how can you use this, change buttons and shapes, included. Code is highly commented.

@sweetz : i think you sent me an email, but i couldn’t responde to it (i don’t know why). anyway..yes you can use *.swf files instead of images. i will add captions for photos these days in an update.

@Layz : i’m not sure that i fully understand your question. You want to move the shapes in the transition, or you want to move the photo?

I recently purchased the slideshow. It works great locally, but when I upload it to the server I have issues. It will display the SWF , but it’s not loading my photos. The XML image paths have been changed and are correct so I’m not sure what’s going on. The XML file is in the same folder as the SWF file so I didn’t have to change the XML path in the AS.

Any thoughts?

@ctownsend : If the slideshow is not working i can assure you that there is no problem with the file, because you can see two working example here(one hosted on FD, and one on my server). So i suggest you to download again the file, don’t modify it and upload it to your server. If it works this means that you changed something either in the *.xml or in the *.as . I don’t know what you could change in the *.as, but if the problem is with the *.xml i can give you some guidance:
  • the *.xml name is “photos.xml”
  • the *.xml begins with ”<?xml version=”1.0” encoding=”utf-8”?>” (without commas)
  • after the first line you have “ ” and the *.xml ends with “ “(without commas)
  • all tags are properly closed ( )
If all these are correct and the slideshow still doesn’t work, send me a mail and i will help you. ;)
@Lazy : np :P i understand now what you mean. if you have a good AS knowledge you could do that. I will explain to you in few words what needs to be done in order to achieve that effect.
First you have to mask the whole slideshow(i forgot to do that, but i will fix it in an update). After the slideshow movieclip is masked you can load pictures that are larger than the slideshow itself. So after a picture is loaded you could add a simple tween, that moves it. Of course, when the picture changes you have to reset its positions back to normal(_x:0, _y:0) Posted 3 months ago

flasher3015 Hey thanks!It’s working!..

I had problem anyway, because I've got 10 big photos with peaople and special roses on them, but on every photo rose is in different place (one photo, rose in center, second in right corner ..etc) so this was a little difficult if I'll make the movement of whole MC "mcPhotos" this make some roses will be on the screen , some roses don't (because they are in the corner somewhere for exmaple), so I was wondering how to do individual movement to each photo, I've solved this puzzle when I've found out that xml working also with *.swf files, not only with *.jpg (i didn't know about it), this just greate! I'm very proud that I bought this file, it saved me :D
