Hi there. I just purchased your news slide/fade. I was wondering if there was a way to add a hyperlink to text?

Thanks

Hi dodgson,

This one not set up for html but my other news files is:

http://flashden.net/item/ultimate-xml-news-automatic-thumbnails-summaries/8669

That said you can get it working on this one by enclosing your xml text in cdata tags and changing the text boxes in flash to html text.

Chuck! You star!

Really happy with this, well done.

Just a query. I’m thinking of using this for like an events/gig guide for a band.

Can you have it so the first item displayed is for events from the current day and future?

And older events can still be viewed, but you have to click the older button?

Not sure if that made sense!

Again – Thankyou!

hi

i purchased this but when i tried to load the swf file xml_news_reader.swf in my internet browser its not displaying the contents. is there any thing i need to do to link the xml file?

Posted 6 months ago

Is it possible for there to be a link with “all news items” that would grab all the news in the xml document and display them on an HTML page outside of flash?

I’m looking to buy this but want to make sure i can do that before purchasing. If anyone can point me into the right direction for that. Thanks!

How do I make this auto-scroll where it will scroll to the next 2 items then pause for 5 seconds, then auto-scroll to the next 2 items, then pause for 5 seconds, etc. Also want it to pause indefinitely if mouse-over, then resume auto scroll when mouse-out. How can I do that? Thanks.

Hi Chuck,

after spending about an hour reading all the posts from this and the alternative news slider I thought that I’d ask your opinion regarding buying the correct one for me.

The look and simplicity is what I need, and this news slider is perfect.

However a feature that is in the newer version would b useful, and that is to be able to add a url within the xml description.

From reading posts from the alternative news slider I could edit the new one so that the news icons and the colourscheme are the same as this one. But personally I feel that it would be too much work for what I need.

Anyway, sorry about the rant. Is it possible to pay a special fee for an upgraded version of this news slider to enable urls within the xml.

I know that you have put time and effort into both. So if no is the answer I shall just simply buy this one.

Regards,

Tony

Hi, i like this simple news slide but i have a question:

how can i implement my css file, for styling links and so on?

sorry i am new in flash and xml!

thanks for answers! best wishes

I don’t know if it’s already been noticed but, as in the earlier problem if you click on the older button and just before the new article appears click on the newer button, the content and/or mask seems to slide quite a bit. If you keep clicking in this fashion you end up hiding the content. Just wrote this to let you know.

How can I put this in a page with a php extension?

Posted 22 days ago

hey chuck I love the file,

I’m having a problem where I need the file to have cacheing disabled in action script so that it reads the xml file on my server every time the page is read or reloaded. that way whenever i update the xml file, the latest version of the file can be viewed and the swf isnt relying on the saved cache on the users browser. thanks for the help!
