XML Map of Canada features:
This map has been made so that the user must first select one of Canada’s provinces, before a second option is proposed. This second option is disabled until the user has selected a state. However the user can still select a different province before choosing the second option, if he clicked on the wrong one for example.
Each button “option 1” and “option 2”, have their own URL loaded from XML , to which the corresponding 2 letters from the province selected will be added, like this:
http//:wwwyoururl.com/ON
Where the “http//:www.yoururl.com/” part is loaded from XML and the “ON” (for Ontario) part added in flash.
You can literally change almost every parameter in the XML file and there is only 1 node to make it easier.
Apart from the text inside each province (e.g. ON for Ontario etc…
, you can change all the other text via the XML file.
You can also change every single color parameter for each state (e.g. disabled, over and selected colors) for every single item in the movie.
The drop shadow parameters can easily be changed in flash.

I’m sure it only says that to make you think it’s not there. But that’s the actual file. It could be used to make unsuspecting and well, incompetent people from viewing the file. Nah, I’m kidding.

I like it, though the hit area is a bit funky. There are places where you hold your cursor still and it jumps back and forth. Other than that, good work.

Thanks for comments guys. Yes, there is a bit of flickering especially with complex shapes in the North. This is also due to the scale of each province getting bigger on rollover, I think it’s too big so will reduce that and that should make it better.
