Update 3:
As you can see in the preview, this file now contains 2 versions of the banner rotation system. I decided not to release V2.0 as a seperate file, but include it in this file. So you get 2 for the price of 1.
Great new update 2:
First the movieclip had to be manually resized. You can now set the size of the banner movieclip from the XML file.

Now with a better loading scheme, which makes it a lot more fluent!
The actionscript uses the tween class to fade from 1 banner to another.
The size of the banner is easily changed to any size you want. The rotation system is a movieclip, that you can drag to the stage and it will work automatically.
It supports jpg’s, png’s and swf’s, as long as they do not have any transparency. Cause the banners are loaded in 2 layers and with transparency you could see 1 through the other. For swf’s you would have to place a solid rectangle on the background to avoid transparency.

When an animated .swf is used with a stop on the end. It will not play when the swf is shown again in the loop. It will just show the last frame….

I made a fix for this specific problem rickw has. It’s only useful if you use swf banners, that do not loop continually, but have to play only once. If anyone else that has bought the file needs it, I can send it. Just post your e-mail address here. That way I can see if you have bought the file.

Let me start by saying that this file was easy to work with, and I had great success quickly customizing it to embed into an html file. While it is working great with .jpg and .png files. I am having an issue with certain .swf files.
I know it works with .swf files, but I haven’t been able to make it work with a few .swf files that also read off of an external xml file. Is there a fix for this? Thanks!

Hi Yvo – well commented banner and easy to modify the AS to suit/customise whatever project – just changing a few bits and pieces myself.
Just wondering where you could post or email (kel supajuicy.com) the AS for fixing the looping SWF banner (as per rickw comment) – guessing you’ve just added a .play(); somewhere 
i love this file!
but i’m wondering if its possible to stop the loop, and have it play only once. i’ve tried a couple things.. but i can’t figure it out.
also i would love to hear about fixing the looping SWF issue. because i might like to do something like that in the future.

Hi sugarkincaid, I’m glad you like the file. I’m sorry for my late reply btw, but I’m a bit under the weather at the moment. I made a modification to the file, so that it does what you want it to. I can e-mail it to you, but of course I don’t have your e-mail address. If you send me a message through my profile, I can e-mail you back. I Love This File
Though, I was wondering, in the xml text file where the rotational banners’ information is listed, if I do not want to direct a particular banner to a url link, is there an xml code I can use so that when I click on the banner, nothing will happen and then the banner will progress to the the next banner which could have a url link. Please let me know if this is possible, for now an undefined web page pops up when nothing is listed or defined within . I am rather new to xml and I am not sure if this is possible. Thank you for making the file available, it is pretty cool.

First off, thank you for your compliment. And again sorry for the late reply, but I have been a bit under the weather. I have already made a version for someone else that handles a banner not having a link and can e-mail this to you. Making it possible to click through to the next banners is a lot of extra coding and cannot be set from the XML . If you want the no link version, just send me an e-mail through my profile and I will mail it to you.

Yvo, I purchased your file, love it. I have 1 issue, “my dynamic jquery drop down menu navigation now drops down beneath the Flash banner” making the page useless
do you know a work around for this
does anyone know how to get the drop down menu to fall in front of the Flash banner?!

Hi Ellen, I’m glad you like the file. Your issue is a common one. Have you tried playing with the z-index? Give the jquery menu a higher priority by giving it a higher z-index than the div containing the swf.

yvo, Thanks so much for the quick – and even more than asked for – support. Huge help. Too anyone looking at this, or any of Yvo’s other files, I was very impressed by his quick and over the top response to my inquiry (I had asked about some changes involving making the banners click through to the next banner, rather than link to site. This enabled me to use them as a separate window with its own transitions. He had to do a fair amount of work on this – but he did it all quickly, and gratis, and delivered some extra things I didn’t even ask for. For such a small purchase – a huge amount of support.
