Very nice! Would be great if its like GOOGLE maps. Instead of arrows a handcursor to move the map…. Is that possible?

Thanks for the comments.

You can zoom in and out using mouse wheel. As for the drag option, it is a bit different than google maps due to the fact that the countries already have rollover and click opttions, but I’m looking into making it draggable by clicking and dragging the ocean areas….probably next update.

You can however keep your mouse down on the arrows and it will move faster.

Hi Feha,

Thanks for the purchase!

As there could be so many use for this map, I kept it somewhat “simple” as i wanted to see what comments/requests I was going to get, and then implement new features depending on requests.

The “easiest” way to do what you want would be to set the colors individually in the xml for each country. That means changing the xml a bit and a bit of AS, but that would be a good first update or version 2, so email me and I’ll do it for you.

Cheers!

Great job LG.

What you should do and what I would do if I were you is incorporate your popups from the North American map into this one too (I know you probably avoided this as with so many countries it would take forever.

That way people could use a National flg or photo of a National Monument or something else as well as a few facts about the country.

Hi eirehotspur ,

Thanks for the comment. Yes, as you said I kept this first version easy to update. But I will definitely add more options as I get requests….more versions on the way.

Cheers!

I’ll be adapting this to my site.

Thanks for the comments guys and thanks for the purchase desklancer.

gametitan, you are probably right. There may be a couple of mistakes, but by the way, even though there are 211 countries in this map, the xml file is organised by continents, and even some sub-categories such as “middle-east”, so you won’t need to browse the xml for long to make any changes.

hi nice map,

is it possible to have an initial zoom level and position ?

thanks.

Hi Batman,

Not currently, but I keep note of that.

You might want to disable the “Zoom In” and “Zoom out options” in the context menu…or maybe not since you get drag functionality that way…

Hi LGLab, Can I drop this into a movieclip within my own as2 site? If so, can I modify the AS2 to call my own asfunction rather than url? Thank you, Scott

Posted 5 months ago

Hi Scott,

Yes you can load the map into a movieclip and you can change the code to suit your needs.

Cheers!

Very nice! :) But you misspelled Sweden, it now says “Sweeden” ..

Can you provide a map of UN recognized countries? Kosovo is included in this map, but its not a UN recognized country, so I can’t include this map in my project.

Thanks!
