Page Resizing

To adjust page size you will have to adjust a few movie clips. All can be found in your library. Here are some tips on what to do.

1. “Spread Background” mc. Change the graphic inside this clip to the new page size

2. “Spread Size” mc. Change the graphic inside this clip to the new page spread size (2 pages side by side)

3. Inside “Spread” mc move the “Page Corner” mc’s to the edge of the page spread.

4. Also Inside “Spread” mc, you will see a layer labeled “Spreads”. On that layer is a mc called “Magazine Spreads”. Position that mc’s x co-ordinate exactly half the width of “Spread Size” mc. The y coordinate should be 0.

5. In the library click inside the movieclip “Spread Change Mask” and change the width of the red graphic to your total pages width. Forinstance if one of your pages is 400 px wide, the red graphic should be 800 px wide, then realign it to the right.

6. And finally you will need to adjust the following movieclips to match your new pages height, “glow mask” and “shadow mask”

I would be willing to pay for the customization. I want to support External XML Data File that does the following 1-adding additional pages, 2-editable table of content 3-editable background colors, fonts, flip book size 4-flip book background can be a png, swf, flv 5- support mp3 6- pages support / include multiple files, mp3, jpeg, png, swf, flv, and url

Hello Rob

I am still having problems with the pre-loader in this version.

when the page is opened in Internet explorer the page remains black for quite a while …...then the pre-loader flashes briefly at around 100% before the flipbook opens….......any help or suggestions from you or anybody on how this can be fixed would be greatly appreciated.

Problem is: I have clients who think that the flipbook on the web doesn’t work because all they see is a black screen when they go to my website and they assume that there is nothing there !

Ujiah-follow these steps
1. In your linkage for each bitmap uncheck “export in the first frame”, but leave export for actionscript checked. 2. If you have the latest download you will see a layer called “Bitmaps”, click inside the mc on this layer and drag your bitmaps in here. The layer is invisible so it wont be seen, but it will make sure images get properly loaded. 3. If you have an older version you could either download the latest from your account, or do the following. do step 1. Then in the main timeline create a new layer. Put the layer beneath the Background. On frame 2 of this layer create a moviclip, set the movieclip to an alpha of 0. then drag all your bitmaps from the library inside this movieclip

My e-mail form hangs at “Your message is being sent”. Does anyone know how to fix this? My web server has PHP /CGI and it’s Windows-based. I put the sendmail.php file at the same level as the index.html file. The code in the sendmail.php file includes:

$to = “me@mygreatdomain.com”; $body .= ”\nservice powered by mygreatdomain.com\n”;

Line 15 of the send_clip code reads:

loadVariables(“http://www.mygreatdomain.com/sendmail.php”, this, “POST”;

The e-mail is with Network Solutions and the website is with another provider. Both work.

The author did not respond to my e-mail. Thanks.

I am new to Flash-programming. I am programming under Delphi 7 now…

As I buy your MAGAZINE PAGE FLIPPER V2 , will I get the actionscript too?

I need the Actionscript to implement and ‘update’ the whole inside my program under Delphi first (possible!) and hope to switch to Flash, combining it with C#.

Phillips-Yes actionscript is included in the fla.

Hello,

I have some questions:

When you say “Comes with a layered psd”, what do you mean?

What is a layered psd?

I want to buy some of this items but I’m not sure of buying the page flipperV2 or page flipper V3 as I do not realize a significant difference between them.

Can you tell me what is the difference between them and what is the best you reccomend (taking in care that music player in the V3 is not important for me)?

I will appreciate your prompt response in order to make my purchase.

DOP -Layered PSD is just a photoshop file with my original design. Somepeople find it helpful to have so they can experiment with different layouts, or create a new design. It has nothingto do with the Flash file.

V2 and V3 are more or less the same as far as code, just different designs.

Neorags-Open your library panel and you will see a movieclip named “Magazine Spreads”. Inside this movieclip you will see the page layouts where you can make your changes. Each frame represents either a left or right page, to add more pages just add more frames. Make sure not to delete the blank keyframes at the end.
