The space3D flash component displays images in an interactive 3D environment powered by the Papervision3D engine. Images first appear in a 3D wall and then on click randomly expand out. The camera then zooms through space to the clicked image. An image can be flipped over to reveal image information.

  • All settings and photos can be changed through the component inspector or the XML file.
  • Images are dynamically sized to fit the component size.
  • Skinnable loader, buttons, and description box
  • Optional next and previous buttons
  • Optional image reflection
  • Customizable photo spacing

freakin sweet, but it needs some light adjustments, there should be a way to get back to the main first screen when all the photos are there at once, and the preloader will go to 100% and then drop back down to 95 a couple times before finally loading, which probably has to do with the bytesTotal method, but good work…

I would ab-soul-loot-lee LOVE this if it was possible to have some the the squares able to play .swf files when they are clicked on. Possible?

Hey FlashFramer,

You do some nice work…

Any chance you can add a keystroke listener and be able to scroll through the images using the arrow keys instead of using the little triangles on the image?

Yes that can been done. We have a full API . You can set it up using EventListeners.

The space3D flash component displays images or videos in an interactive 3D environment powered by the Papervision3D engine. Images/videos first appear in a 3D wall and then on click randomly expand out. The camera then zooms through space to the clicked image. An image/video can be flipped over to reveal information.

This component is fully customizable, Just drag and drop the component onto your Flash project. No ActionScript required but an API is available for customizing. This Flash component is available only for ActionScript 3.0 (Flash CS3 ).

Key Features:

  • Images/Videos are dynamically sized to fit the component size.

I tried using this in a slide show, images with type, but the resolution is so poor the type looks terrible! Is there a way to improve the image quality?

You can control the image quality. There is any image Quality parameter in the component inspector as well as in the .xml file. In the example the images look good. I haven’t had this issue. Make sure your images are large enough they don’t get stretched.
