FLASH SLOT MACHINE

Full_screen_preview

An all-vector, scaleable, slot machine game reminiscent of the old-style 1-payline, 3-reel, 6-icon machines.

An XML configuration file controls:
  • button colors (off, up, over states)
  • individual sound effect levels (spin, stop, coin drop, handle pull, winner loop)
It is possible to change the following within Flash:
  • Payout amounts for each winning spin
  • Payout odds by adjusting an array containing each reel’s icon frequency. So for example, you could increase the likelihood of a ‘777’ jackpot by increasing the number of 7s on each reel’s icon array.
  • The slot machine’s vector reel icons
  • The slot machine’s ‘skin’
  • Money/Credit initial and reset amount

The file uses a Flash-based Shared Object ‘cookie’ to store the user’s score.

Note: for fun only – because the payout amounts and winning spin odds could possibly be spoofed, the file should not be used in any type of prize give-away situation.

All sound effects are licensed from AudioSparx

First off, very cool app. I built a slot machine a number of years ago, but was horrible. This one is done very well.

... but there are a couple issues you might want to look at.

1. the text on the buttons is black, and the buttons are black, so with the shine, I can only see the tops of the first words.

2. I bet max and got cherry 7 cherry, and it only gave me 6 credits when it should’ve given me 15

3. I bet max and got bell orange cherry, and it didn’t give me anything, it should’ve given me 6

I’m wondering if it’s just a problem with it ignoring the 3rd wheel. Just my observation. Still very cool. I don’t need one now, but if I need a slot machine in the future, I’m buying this one. Bookmarked!

4. just got plum cherry 7 and it didn’t give me anything, again should’ve been 6.

I did however get bell bell bar and it gave me the 150. CASH OUT !!!

Oh, I realize what you’ve done. When you did cherry any any, you made it so the first one can only be cherry, it pays nothing if cherry lands on the 2nd or 3rd wheel. Same with the 2 cherries, it has to be 1st and 2nd wheel, not 1st and 3rd or 2nd and 3rd.

If this is the way you intended to develop it, there are no problems, but I can’t remember playing a slot machine (I’ve made many a donation…;) where cherry any any meant 1st wheel only.

Again, just my observation.

Re:cherry payouts – the game is base on the machines from the 50s (I think) where you only won if the 1st reel, the 1st and 2nd reels or the 1st and 2nd and 3rd reels landed on cherry. Makes the logic for determining winning spins easier (for m,e anyway) but maybe I’ll change it so that cherries in any reel result in a payout.

Re: darkhouse #1 – are the buttons still black for you? They show up ok for me (green PAY TABLE + SPIN , red BET buttons)

(I’ve played this thing thousands of times and my best spin is Bel, Bell, Bell)

Hi, I just installed the beta 10 of Flash Player for Mac. It seems that your Flash detection does’nt allow me to display your file and keep telling me that I need Flash Player 8 or above

biteMedia after RimV fixed the preview the buttons were the right colors. As for the cherries winning on 1st reel, I guess I’m just used to the more modern machines where it doesn’t matter the order of the items. I kept getting bell bar bell, plum bar plum, and orange bar orange… they should be worth the same as bell bell bar, etc, but again, it was the order thing. I guess it’s my preference.

Still, great job, I hope you do well with it.

“Note: for fun only – because the payout amounts and winning spin odds could possibly be spoofed, the file should not be used in any type of prize give-away situation.”

how and/or why?

i want to use it for a prize give-away. like a free pdf or something. when their cash hits a certain amount they can cash out for the prize.

so how could an end user spoof it?

thx :)

masteryan: I’m not 100% sure of the how but I’m sure that if there were a prize worth winning involved people would figure out a way to hack it.

The user’s current credit count is stored in a Flash ‘cookie’ which is a file located on the user’s system so a clever hacker might somehow be able to change this file so that their credit count was in the millions.

I recently modified the file in conjunction with another developer – they were able to hook the .SWF up with a database and some JavaScript so that each spin was logged (I think) and therefore harder to spoof.

Perhaps I could see if they’d be able to help you out with making the file more secure…
