Sliding List is a multilevel, xml driven, horizontal menu. It is built on a category-with-files structure. It can have as many categories/subcategories/ items as you want. It can be easely resized and skinned and it is flexible when it comes to firing actions when clicking on an item. It can open urls, play movie clips or perform any other action you desire. IMPORTANT !
Small bug fix: first time it loads, the Back and Root buttons are enabled even if they don’t trigger any action. Open main.fla, “AS” layer, frame 2 and change:
PList_mc.root = PList_mc.data = xo.firstChild;
to
PList_mc.root = xo.firstChild;
PList_mc.data =xo.firstChild;

This is the direction you guys should keep with your files. Focus on creating new and original things, and stop stealing ideas. There is no such iPhone killer, as there is no such thing as best sold gallery on FlashDen killer, and so on. A bit rude, but true.

Super cool, only thing i have to point out is when the menu firstly load the Back and Root buttons are clickable, although they dont perform any action I think they should load unclickable.

Just a question, how many lines of useful( comments are discarded ) code does the file have, roughly?

is it possible to load the menu and have it display not at the main or root level, but a little further down the tree and allow the user to navigate back if needed. I don’t want it to always display at the root or main lavel.

Since the author appears non supportive of this product, perhaps somebody who has purchased this can advise…. can the menu be loaded with a starting point other then the root? I would like to use this menu but I am not going to buy it until I know it can do this. As people navigate down the menu system, the menu item clicked should be visible when that page loads.

I don’t want a menu system that always loads the root directory every time.

Any help?

Can I call a file action automatically when I go into a folder. For example, I have 5 folders and each one has 5 files in it. Can I click on a folder (which then lists the 5 files) and have it automatically call the action from the first file instead of having to press the first file.

I am using this in a portfolio setting, with the file actions calling in another movie, and would like the first piece to come up as the default.

hi, i looks very good. i want to use in an existent flash based website, so, the menu will load into a movieclip, i think you may be used _root or something like this, and the menu won’t work… this can be modified?
