MINI FLV PLAYER WITH AD SYSTEM AND DEEP LINKING

HomeBrowse CategoriesFlashApplications and UtilitiesMini FLV Player with Ad System and Deep Linking
Full_screen_preview

Ladies and gentlemen, i present to you one of the newest and most effective ad revenue sources – Video Ads! These types of ads present 100% coverage because the users MUST see the ad before they will be able to see the actual video – so, they won’t get ignored like other types of ads (banners, google ads..etc). You may see this as an investment, not as just buying a FLV Player.

NOTE : On flashden, the DEEP LINKING (send a mail from within the player to a friend) feature will NOT work because it needs php. You will find a full working version here (complete with some charts -> statistics recorded from ads) : http://aletud.dreamhosters.com/alex/miniflvplayer/

Basically, as I said in the video tutorial, this is not an upgrade to the Mini FLV Player, but another project, an extension or plug-in if you will. To be honest I spent more time developing these 2 new features than I did developing the player. What you get:

Player features:
  • Can play FLV , MOV, MP4 (anything encoded with H.264)
  • XML driven
  • Can override default xml path for multiple players on a single page
  • Fully resizable (mantains aspect ratio)
  • Just drag’n’drop in your own project
  • Fullscreen support
  • You can set to auto-play (or not)
  • Supports HD videos
  • Seekbar autohide option (can select number of seconds of inactivity for this feature
  • Logo placeholder
  • Control video smoothing from xml
Ad system features:
  • Smart system – ads played to a single users are recorded, and that user will not see the same ad twice
  • You can use both pre-rolls (video ad before actual video) and/or post-rolls (video ad after actual video)
  • Complex reporting system
    Standard reported values:
    • Type of ad (pre-roll or post-roll)
    • Type of action of that ad (clicked or played)
    • User’s screen resolution
    • User’s system language
    • User’s operating system
    • Everything about the ad (name, id, advertiser, frequency….etc)
    • Any custom values you would like (e.g. user ip, username – any custom vars that will help you integrate the ad system into your own system – @see video tutorial)
Deep linking features:
  • PHP script that already is set up to send emails (no modification required)
  • You can use the PHP mail function (recommended) or SMTP
  • Customizable HTML template that the users will receive in their email.
  • Flash email validation (before sending any bogus data to the server)

Or if you’re interested only by the player without the extra features you might want to check out:

Like alwais only great files from alexandrup.Good job!

Posted 2 months ago

the video is entirely pixelated

Posted 2 months ago

I’m not sure what you mean, could you send me a screenshot (along with: browser used, flash player version, os…;)

Posted 2 months ago

I would love to see the tutorial and would like to purchase the file…but the screen is screwed-up (Pixelated). Please notifly me when it’s up correctly or send me a link to markhill (at) socal.rr.com.

Also, I am a 14 year old studying flash dev. I don’t have a lot of money, if you can send me the file, I will pay you once I save enough money from my allowance.

dope great idea . bookmarked for future use in near future hopefully.

Hi, i just bought your file, thank you for this professional worck.

I ave just one problem playing ”.mov” file, i dont have any sound. Can you please tell me own to resolve that problem.

Thank you in advance

Posted 2 months ago

@echo1: i haven’t managed to reproduce the error, all my videos that were encoded with sound work fine. I think you might find that it might be an encoding issue. see : http://forums.streetfire.net/showthread.php?t=14259

@houndawg: I’m sorry to say, but i cannot send you this project because I do not sell personally this file, FD does, and since i’m an exclusive author i cannot sell this file on my own (or other stock flash sites). If you are a beginner, this project is not for you, this is an advanced project, that uses quite a lot of flash’s not so “disclosed” or commonly used features. I recommend http://www.osflash.org – it’s a great place to learn. My personal favourites are the pixlib (AS2) <-> lowra (AS3) and CASA Framework – there’s a lot to learn from them.

Is there any way to include a video file list and the player still behave the same way?

Posted about 1 month ago

If you want a playlist, i suggest using a javascript playlist that just keeps reloading the player with different XML files. This way it will work ok.

Hi alex excelent work here, awesome indeed.

I have a few questions for you.

wich .as files need to modify to put a volume control there?

and I NeeD the ads system reporting where is the file for that?

I cant find it in the folder and in the documenteation says

“For configuring & using the Ad System please refer to the video tutorial found online” but the online tutorial is very basic and Doesn`t Say Anything about this feature I bought it because of the ad system,

Its very important for me to get that feature working

i was messing arround with the stats.php file and i saw that parses the xml from there But if the file exist i dont have that file in the package that I`d donwloaded, doesnt have the .swf file to show that info either,

I need support with that asap please

PS: what .as files do i need to modify to set all the data from the xml and Not From Flashvars, so i can embed this inside another MC with a playlist,

Thanks.

great player… very complex internal workings… but a breeze to set up!

one issue: i’m using this in a wordpress blog… it works fine on individual pages… but on a page with several posts (resulting in many videos on a page) it seems the player wants to load each entire vid before playing it.. and this is holding up the other players down the line on the page…

any way to avoid this?

also, i’m streaming in m4v files,... but no sound?

please advise thanks! s

Like previous posters said the video is pixilated….Firefox 2.

The concept and detail sounds really interesting though.

Let me understand

Your player does not have an xml video list beside it or in the player?? The Adverts cannot be bypassed? You have a very detailed report of what ad is watched and by whom?

no XML playlist like a lot of other files on here would stop me buying it.

@sank: i have gotten the sound issue before, as far i figured (and i did google this issue quite a lot), it’s an encoding issue – if you use .flv files it should be fine. As for the other issue could you post (or email me) a link so i can get a clearer picture?

@eirehotspur: In order of your questions:
  • My best guess for the pixelation is that it comes from the way Camtasia encodes video – weird – haven’t seen that anywhere else but on Camtasia encoded videos – if you look here: http://aletud.dreamhosters.com/alex/miniflvplayer/ you will NEVER see that video pixelated – and it is a HD video
  • The player does use XML to retrieve the video to be played, you can specify more than 1 video (asset) in that list, but this player will only play the first asset. This was supposed to be the first player in a long line of video players, but unfortunately i never got around to make the other ones – the single playlist, multiple playlist and a multiple category player – but i will someday succeed in creating those too
  • Adverts cannot be bypassed by users… unless they seek at the end of the video – but the video still has to fully load in order for the user to seek there….so there is no other way to bypass
  • The advertisement system will report anything you want it to report. Flash does not have the capability or the access to know: ip, MAC , browser, country etc….these have to be passed in by using a severside language when rendering the page. You can have it report anything this way – username of the person viewing the page, ip, country (there are services that offer the functionality to find out a page by IP) .... any info you want from the person watching the ad… This is not a serverside solution, it is a client side one – i only offer an example of a php script in the .zip on FD, but you can put it to far better use that what i just showed there…

    It is a nice player.

Hope to see the other players you plan on doing some day. Along the lines of Adverts and what to do to prevent people scrubbing past ANY of it take a look at Rich Media Projects player that puts a bar at the bottom while the advert plays and it disapears when the video comes up to show the controls again.

    http://www.rich-media-project.com/progressive-download-products/flv-player/

Will be interested to see your multiple catagory one too someday.

I purchased the player but it is in AS2 . I have AS3 classes that I have to have for my CDN . Is there another version?

    Opens With “Flash CS3 (9+)”

    Posted 17 days ago

Is this AS2 or AS3 as listed? If the details are wrong and it is for AS2 then I’ll more than likely get this.

I’d like to know more about the ad system before I buy though. The source of these ads and companies connected to it would be helpful and what type of ads are shown, can you block ads that do not match your related content etc.

Cool looking player though. If there was a lot more in-depth information about the ad system, reporting and the code ‘pixel’ bug that the above people are experiencing will boost your downloads. I’m sure a lot of people have this page bookmarked, but are holding out for more feedback and information.

I think I may of misread…I spotted ‘google ads’ and assumed this works with a 3rd party what Google and YouTube are running at the moment, that allow video ad revenue embedded into adsense video streams.

Are the ads 100% controlled by you and hosted by you, or is there some kind of 3rd party modification like the Google/YouTube embedded ads?

    Posted 16 days ago

hi, why does the play/pause button get completely disabled if autoplay = true?

... plus, are you around anymore?

    thanks, s
