MD Gallery v1

A simple – yet elegant – gallery site to showcase your work in a compelling manner. MD Gallery was designed with the goal to let your work speak for itself. The thumbnails are arranged in an elegant (and customizable) grid and allow each thumbnail to display a larger version of your image for more impact. The motion is smooth and you can add as many “libraries” as you wish (space permitting of course).

Features:

  • Elegant and unobtrusive preloading of information and thumbnails
  • Add multiple libraries (Portrait, Landscape, Glamour, etc.) by adding XML files. No limit on how many images each library can hold.
  • Each thumbnail supports a larger version of the image with individual descriptions
  • Robust error checking that helps direct you if you encounter a loading error (nice for development)
  • Centralized code-base so you don’t have to go digging everywhere for Actionscript files
  • CSS control over main gallery descriptions
  • All fonts, classes, and layered Photoshop files are included! (1)
  • Full browser site for an elegant presentation

This is a complete site template. All you have to do is customize it to your liking and deploy!

What this file includes:

  • FLA file with all code in centralized files
  • All XML files for main gallery and all libraries
  • All fonts, classes, and javascript used in the gallery (1)
  • Instruction file with some troubleshooting

Requirements:

  • Flash 8 or higher
  • Very basic knowledge of Flash Actionscript (how to change a variable)
  • Adobe Photoshop (if you would like to use the included PSD template)

I do not offer technical support for customization of the file. The only tech support I offer is for the VERY rare bug in the code or corrupted download file. Please read through comments as most questions are answered here already.

Absolu, I have the same problem also. “that error says that gallery failed to load. check Xml path”. I must be doing something wrong at publish the swf? I am using Flash 8. Is there another way to change the logo without opening the Fla file? I noticed when I test the movie it changed the swf in the deploy folder.

Nevermind, I found the answer to my problem, I had to change the False in the main actionscript. It is working now

You gotta open the MD_Gallery.fla on Flash and replace the logo.png file with one of your own.

Hello great file.

Two questions:

1. I’ve tried to change the background color through the flash properties, but it does not take…its seems to be overrided somewhere else in the code. I did just place a giant colored square on the stage but this isnt ideal. Any ideas?

2. I’d like for the thumbnails to NOT slide in from the upper left when the page first loads. I’d rather they just appear in the center…where is the script to tweak this? Thanks!!
