MD Gallery Advanced

A simple yet elegant gallery site to showcase your work in a compelling manner. MD Gallery Advanced was designed with the goal to let your work speak for itself. The thumbnails are arranged in an elegant (and customizable) grid and allow each thumbnail to display a larger version of your image for more impact. The motion is smooth and you can add as many image and video “libraries” as you wish (space permitting of course).

MD Gallery Advanced Features:

  • Previous/Next buttons on image galleries with added keyboard navigation
  • PHP contact form which can be turned on or off(2)
  • FLV support with dedicated video libraries

Figured out how to shift everything up.

First: gallery.as line 42 (gallery_mc.mask_mc._height/2+30)

Second: stage_resize.as line 51 (gallery_mc.mask_mc._height/2+30)

+30 being the change

i am planning to buy this template, but i have a question, can you use instead of the gallery load of pictures also load text instead of the pictures. And the most important thing does anybody know ho to do that or is that included in the file.

The gallery does not support loading text , but it can be done.

I am having problems with my swf file. I can’t get it to work. You can see the x where you can close the file, but you cannot view the swf file. Can anyone help me or tell me what am I doing wrong.

Hello great file.

Two questions:

1. I’ve tried to change the background color through the flash properties, but it does not take…its seems to be overrided somewhere else in the code. I did just place a giant colored square on the stage but this isnt ideal. Any ideas?

2. I’d like for the thumbnails to NOT slide in from the upper left when the page first loads. I’d rather they just appear in the center…where is the script to tweak this? Thanks!!

Hi Wassa,.. Very simple.. Copy your video.xml and add this as a second time and add a new video link in your MD_Gallery.xml.

Other Question: Did any where find the bug with the desaturate? I search in all posts here but there is only a complete tutorial with a new concept.

Perhaps, there is only one line in a .as file to change?!

As to your first question. I believe the background colour can be changed in the HTML code. When you view it in your browser view the page source and find the colour 000000 and work you way back.

As to the second question FIIK .

scratch that last request – i found the answer in the comments. Next mission is to figure out how to change the heading of the website from “MD Gallery Advanced” to something else. i will start looking but please chime in….

Is there a way to attach a .pdf to one of the nav buttons? I’m trying to give access to my Resumé. I would also like to place a body of text under another nav. button, to replace the picture boxes.

Hi Guys,

Just a quick note to say, even though this is a great file and has served me well so far, the level of support is ZERO !! I needed to add alternative content for some of the sections, such as about us, contact etc, and couldn’t for the life of me figure it out. I see a lot of people in the same boat on this one. I contacted

marvidude@hotmail.com

as recommended by another user posting on this file. All I can say is money well spent. For a small fee he customised the file exactly as I asked and turned it around pretty sharpish sending back all source files. So if you’re tearing your hair out over getting this file to do things for you then you should contact him. Hope this helps someone.

Does this require you to use FLASH MX in order to change the .as files? I changed the files now how do I get the site to reconize the changes?

@jaspercarrott: yes, I EXPLICITLY say that I do not offer support for customizations in the description above. I’m not trying to be all diva about this, but I simply don’t have time to do so, and there are many folk on here (like marvidude) that offer great help!

I have changed my path names to link to a folder on another site…

I also load the MD_Gallery_Advanced.swf into another swf (my own) , everything works however the large images are not visible. The background and the left and right arrows resize according to the true size of the large image as though it actually does load, however the large image simply is not visible. Can anyone help ?

I once had a problem with another gallery swf that images would not appear if the jpeg was more than 1 pixel larger than the size of the loading area.

This gallery neatly resizes the loading area of the image to the size of the image… maybe my problem is along these lines … I don’t know .... yet

it scares me too see how many people actually are using this template. good thing i tweaked the hell out of it. looks like everyone on here does not know much about flash. i just used this template because i am too busy atm to design a site for my self.

If anyone would like to show me how they used this template that would be interesting.. =)

hi there! i have a strange problem with md gallery adv. i customized it only slightly (changed the background and logo) and for some reason it doesn’t load thumbnail images in firefox and safari (the website works well in chrome, opera and ie 6,7,8) and it’s looking like this: http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/8489/capturermb.jpg

i didn’t mess with the code, only changed the text fields.

Still a problem loading images from an another domain !

The Thumb images load and are visible but the large images are not visible ,... which is the strange part

I have looked into cross-domaine issues … no difference

This gallery works fine on a single domain but I don’t believe that it is capable of networking between two different domains.
