Intuitive gallery viewer

File has been updated 6 nov 2008

Fixes:
  • double click bug fixed
  • pre-loader graphic improved

This (mutliple) gallery viewer uses XML and CSS to make everything external, so you don’t have to open the flash file.

You can scroll the thumbs by moving your mouse. Clicking on the thumb will bring the picture up to full size where you can place a text box (top, bottom, left, right or none) with some remarks or comments in HTML .

Clicking the full image will make the image go back to the thumb scroller.

You can attach multiple galleries and the viewer will create the drop down menu for it. If you only have 1 gallery, the viewer will not show the drop down menu.

Features:
  • auto thumbnailer
  • adjust the clip to any size from the XML
  • declare all colors and text from the XML and CSS
  • define placement of info boxes from the XML
  • hide/show descriptions
  • multiple gallery support
  • no drag and drop, straight coding with 1 font in the library
  • easy to setup, easy to maintain
  • auto shading

All in all, this is a nice little gallery viewer with an intuitive interface.

Coding : AS2

Fonts used : Tahoma

The new package contains an HTML example and a Flash example of how to embed the gallery. Help files included in PDF , plain text and Word doc.

ITEM DISCUSSION

I like it a lot. The mask is a little funny when you go back to the slider after looking at the detail. Other than that, great file.

Great gallery :):) and only 10$ , worth a bit more ;):):)

Please, version fla8 As2 possible ? Thanks

Posted 9 months ago

Nice file, but it has like three pictures 10

Posted 9 months ago

Thanks!!

Masking? Ehm, not quite sure what you mean, since I don’t use a mask at all. Maybe it’s due to the fact that I made a mistake with the upload, adding a preview.html, which got the reviewer kinda confused and dazed I guess..

Flash8 version is available. I will upload a re-visited package with that version in it. If you realy realy realy need it now, just buy the file and drop you adres here with your request.

@Hagios.. Lol.. some people are sharp like knives. I wasn’t when I was copy pasting lines in the XML .. Sorry for that one..

FonZ

AHH … I see what you mean now. Defenitly due to the fact that the preview.html is running.

I will make a mask tho to avoid it.. Good looking out!! Thanks!

Nice file

Do you have Henry Winklers permission to use his likeness for your own promotion?

To make it more intuitive, I’d suggest clicking on the full size image goes back to the gallery as well. Great job!

mrgulabull, you are so right, but I tested this on several people (who are not that into internet) and they kinda got lost, if they didn’t have a hint. So I had to put up a hint and well, why not make that a button for all those who still think clicking is non intuitive in every way, lol…

Nice file thanks. Is it possible to set the background as transparent? ...and is there a fla8 version?

Posted 9 months ago

Send your request to info@dutched.org and I’ll make sure you get a corrected file in flash8.

Thanks for buying!!

Hi, Is there a limit to how many pictures one can add in this menu? Thanks!

Posted 8 months ago

None whatsoever!

5/5! ... Being the original person to rate this gallery I gave it 4/5 for only one reason – you couldn’t click the big image to return to the gallery. Fonz has since implemented this and I believe the updated file is about to head your way. Well documented code, all round good looking gallery, and now truely intuitive it’s a winner.

In short, “Very Cool” ... “Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy”

Dear FONZ

1. Does it support UTF8 (Chinese characters)? (both album title and text) 2. May I use different image size and it will auto-resize it? (I am not good in flash so …;) 3. Is the component set at different size without recompile it ?

Regards Alfred

Dear Alfred,

it supports utf 8.

The image will only get scaled for the thumbs but they do NOT get resized to match (whatever you want it to match).

You can set it to any size using the XML and embed methods without having to open up the FLA .

Hope that helps,

Regards, FonZ

Hello there. Is it possible to have 2 different sizes of images? Some are heigher in height and some other are longer in width. And its imposible to have all of them in the same size

Posted 5 months ago

First off, thanks for the purchase, appreciate it!!

To answer your first question, not as is. I’m not sure what you mean with the second question.

But, not to fear, because I’m thinking of updating it, so send me your requests and I’ll work it in there (if they align with the idea of the viewer off course).

Send me a mail if you please at info@dutched.org.

Regards, FonZ
