looks very nice i love the count down sound

I didn’t realize it would take so long. I started with 1 and ended with 13,570.00 but couldn’t wait that long.

It’s a cool file.

URanimEnigma, change parameters and it will take less than 1 millisecond to count from 1 to 13,570.00

Hey,

Is it possible to customize the counter so that it would count up as opposed to count down?

Thanks for your help.

Posted 3 months ago

Yes, the counter does this already – in the preview above:

  • set the ‘start number’ variable to ‘0’
  • set the end number variable to ‘10’
  • click the ‘GO!’ button

…it should count from zero to ten. Try varying the ‘increment’ and ‘interval (sec)’ variables as well to achieve different effects.

Can i get only the counter ? Not as it is on demo ?

Posted 3 months ago

feha: Actually the preview/demo above is only for demonstration purposes and is not included with the purchased file.

Included are Flash CS3 and Flash 8 .FLAs (which don’t have any of the preview/demo text, buttons, form fields etc.) along with help files that should explain how to use the file.

Hi Bitemedia, Once countdown is completed, can I go to and Play another frame? How would you do this?

Posted 3 months ago

beer: yes – there is an ‘end countdown’ function that can be configured within Flash which is executed when the timer reaches zero. You’d need to open the .FLA in Flash and add a gotoAndPlay() to the function…

I’m confused. i see there’s a method to pauseMe. i’m trying to implement a keyPress pause/play toggle but I can’t get it to work. I’m probably being might stupid but where does the seconds for the parameter come from?

thanks :-)

blue-genie: Actually that ‘pauseMe’ function is what I use to pause the playback of a MovieClip timeline. So if I wanted to pause the main timeline for whatever reason I put this into a frame script:

this.pauseMe(5);

…which would stop the main timeline for 5 seconds and then continue playing.

Try using fncStopCounter() to stop counting – but you may need modify the fncStartCounter() code to continue counting from where it was stopped (not 100% sure).

hey BM, mailed you, hope you don’t mind. I’m stumped, got it to stop and start counting again from where it stopped no problem, but the timing goes whack, it starts counting really fast.

If you or anyone else who’s purchased and fiddled with the code could help, i’d be most grateful, I’ve been fiddling for over a week now with no success, it’s close but arrgggh.
