Flash ASP Contact Form

Introduction: Full customizable contact form mail. You can customize any fields to validate (required) and check if e-mail address is in correct format. You can modify max lengths of the input fields and also give a result message / screen to user. Just drag’n’drop on your site and modify the PHP file with your e-mail address. Hi, I’m on a windows server on godaddy.com and am having the same issue of where hotmail.com, yahoo.com, etc accounts are getting bounced back. i don’t understand how to fix it from the comments above. can you please help?

Hi Kaner

I purchased this form today and since then i cannot send any message through it. I see lot of problems from lot of people in their comments. Do u have any answer for me too as it simply returns error. I only change my email id in the asp form script.

If so many users are not satisified with this file and everybody has complaints and the maker of the file cannot answer mails then this file needs worst rating.

I needed it so urgetn 6 dollars gone in drain but the maker of the file should be shown a way never to take their customers for granted.

hi there, just got his flash form file. on it’s own it is working great and sending email ok. However when I copy and paste the .swf file into my existing .fla file of my website the file no longer works. It just seems to appear as an image and won’t allow me to input text in the text fields. I am sure I am doing something simple wrong. any suggestions would be great.

Hi there, I just got this flash form and it is perfect for my website. Only trouble is that i have not been able to get the form to work properly. I can insert text but the asterisks for needed fields don’t seem to be hidden properly and the send button won’t work either. I know your form works ok as a standalone with my web hosting so I am assuming it is something to do with the actionscript addressing as I have inserted the form into my existing website .fla file and figure that maybe I need to adjust something in the actionscript to make it all work. I don’t seem to see the big parameters script that is on scene1 frame1 of your form when I look at it’s scripts in my .FLA file. To insert it into my .FLA I copied all the components from the library of the main.fla file for yourform into the library for my .FLA. I then placed the components into the appropriate frame on my .FLA. The other thought I had was do I need to insert additonal frames equivalent to the number of frames in your gallery movie clip? Any help as soon as possible would be great. I am happy to email a link to my files so you can see what I mean but don’t want to post it publicly. cheers Andy

Does anyone on here know how to fix the problem with emails getting bounced back? Especially when on GoDaddy server? Anyone? Is this Author MIA ?

Hello again, I’m really sorry for late answers. But most of your problems are arises from “authentication”. I don’t know which smtp

components are provided by “GoDaddy” or your ISP but if you provide this information I will try to help you.

Why your emails are bouncing back? Because most of ISP ’s are not allowing senders to send emails with un-authenticated SMTPs. So you must have an auth

before sending e-mails.

How to send e-mails with auth? Please change “send mail” part of your ASP code with these lines.

Kaner,

It would be best if you were to comment better on which specific lines. People are purchasing this form for a reason. Because they don’t know how to build one themselves. i.e. Me.

You are sort of giving them and me directions half ass.

You say add this part to your “send mail” Well, where does that start? How much of the form gets changed? The entire thing?

I mean come on. You should have actually created two forms for people if this is such a problem for everyone and I would have thought you would have done that by now.

It’s really frustrating to purchase something and not be able to use it.

I purchased this a few hours ago and absolutely read all the post and your solutions to individual problems.

NONE of your solutions worked for me!

I should have been able to make the changes to the asp file, (the “Mail to” and smtp settings) upload both the swf and the asp files to my windows server being hosted by 1 and 1, browse over to the swf enter the data and it work.

WHY would I want to waste my time incorporating this into my flash site if I can’t get it to work in a vanilla setting!!!!!!???

THIS IS NOT COOL AND MAKES ME NERVOUS ABOUT DOING BUSINESS HERE . I WANT A REFUND !

If you have problems with sending emails, that means your server has problems with sending emails. This is not an ASP problem. So if you have problems and want me to solve them then just write your problem, not your refund requests. I can’t guaranty that ASP code will work on any servers. I can just help you to make it work.

 maybe you should change your hosting provider? @stefsterhb If I say you can change the “send mail” block then you must open ASP codes and look at it, if you don’t have any problems with your eyes you will see a block commented as “send mail”.

Now, if you have problems again try to write your problems. I will upload a new ASP file as soon as possible. sorry again.

ok, this is just a PITA .

I have fixed it and I have posted it here – only to find out it was removed!

Here are three links to the explanation:

FlashDen <—-—-the ASP form changes! FlashDen <——-the action script changes FlashDen <—-a kind of step by step! READ FIRST !

I spent 2 months on this with no help from Kaner – sorry K! I did it myself with a bit of assistance. voila! here it is – there needs to be some changes in the scripts and flash though.

good luck! it is all there – I helped someone get it working with these exact notes!

READ THE STEP BY STEP FIRST TO GET A FEEL OF WHAT I DID !

BTW – THE REALY SERVER IS FOR GODADDY but the CDO script will work for any server with the correct smtp address. ciao m
