Simply drag “flake” mc to the stage or attach and position it dynamically. Be sure to add all the dynamically linked mc’s to your project’s library. It will be different every time.

Wondering one thing now: is it actionscript that handles the randomize effect, or are there a few movieclips and the script just picks one out?

it is random. the library only contains assets to make the snow flakes, not different versions of them.
