Creative Template I – Photographer’s Portfolio


It’s been long time since my last upload here, but i’ve come up with a really cool template this time(i hope). It’s inspired by the award winner filippasmedhagensund.com. This template is a website designed mainly for photographers and designers, but if you are creative, you can use it for anything :)

Main features :
  • cool photo navigation system with dragging
  • resizing of all images, while keeping the aspect ratios
  • html pages with images and swf files
  • horizontal menu(two levels) which gives you the possibilty to have unlimited galleries and html pages
  • music in the background
  • fullscreen
  • contact form
  • more features coming…
The *.xml files gives you the posibility to customize this file and make it to meet your needs .. In the main *.xml file you have these main properties to change :
- color of the menus
- color of the text on menus
- width of the top menu
- height of the top menu(don’t think you’ll need this)
- font size of text in the top menu(don’t think you’ll need this either)
- photo alpha when a page is opened
- photo blur when a page is opened
- song
- song starting volume

The *.fla is easy to customize, the code is commented, and the template comes with a good manual..

This is awesome! A similar site that uses the drag like that won a FWA award, maybe you’ve seen it.. I would strongly suggest the ability of loading in each individual image separately, not loading them all together at the beginning of the section. I don’t think people will stick around or rather, buy a file that makes you stick around for the loading of all of those large images. It’d be better if one loads and you can view it, second one loads, and you can view it, you know what I mean? Sorry to give negative critism. :( But this file is awesome nonetheless! Good luck with it. This is high quality creative Flash work. :)

@realwebdesigns : I just submitted the “drag gallery” on it’s own. It should be available for sale in a couple of days

@ChristianKragh : My file was actually inspired by that FWA website(as i wrote in the description :D)..About the loading “at once” thing, at first the photos were loaded separately and you could see the first photo until the second one loaded, and so on.. After i advanced with the concept, i had to figure out a way to exclude descriptions and finally ended up by loading all pictures at once. BUT i think i’ll try to go back at loading pictures separately.

is it possible to drag in all direction left right and top bottom and also would it be possible to add a navigation just like they did that if you want to go to the 3 pics right away you could just by clicking a button?

Uh oh. I was messing around and all the pictures disappeared. I moved them all to the right super fast and they went off stage completely. I couldn’t rescue them.

Great Work, I can’t wait to see it upgraded with all the potential it offers…

One suggestion If I may, is the the design & the content of the windows (about, news, contact) are not as subtle as the overall feeling of the site. They lack, to my humble opinion a touch of design…

how can i get the photos to fit the screen all the photos are being cut off on the bottom vertical photos half of the whole photo is being cut off and if i make the image size smaller it doesn’t do anything but make the photo look more pixelated.

also when i tried to change the color of the text background and i publish it the menu comes out smaller to the point you can’t read it.

i had the same thing…double click on the text object in the library and experiment with the bitmap check box.

I have a problem at your file that i have purchased , in a section of the website i want to put a swf that handle a slideshow (because i need a slideshow like a part of all website not a gallery in fullscreen like your proposed) but every component i try to use (compiled on swf) doesn work correctly when pass trought xml -> cdata field -> your interface. This stuff occurs in 3 slideshow components buyed by flashden (all works correctly is played in stand alone mode).

Some tips about this?

hi, can i change bio and news tweens? are they separate swf files loading into the main file?

and do I have to have a certain size of the photos to fit your template or it adjusts automatically? also, is there a minimum size / resolution?
