Hi There Just Bought The File, Newbie though, would it be possible to have the content resize with the rest, Have tried it but the content stays the same size?

Posted 3 months ago

romany,

Thanks for purchasing. Unfortunately the file is just meant to be a background and border—it doesn’t resize your content or effect it in any way other than centering it. Hope that answers your question.

you can pass me plis? i don’t find it

Posted 3 months ago

Shuffledex,

I’m waiting to hear back from FlashDen support about the copyright issues dealing with distributing fonts with files. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to send the font to you because I don’t possess the rights to resell the font.

Just bought it and going to test it… It looks like a great file…

When i try to preview on Adobe Flash it says

“Cannot open a protected movie”

What should i do?

Posted 3 months ago

Cordeiro,

That is a weird error—not sure why it would be doing that. Things you can try:

1) Make sure you opening it with Flash 8 or higher 2) Under publish settings make sure “Protect from import” isn’t checked 3) Make sure you set the classpath as described in the help file 4) Make sure you are working ActionScript 2.0

If you are still having problems let me know.

Hey Modular,

Sweet file. What if I wanted my content movie clip to always stay on the left side of the browser window? Is this possible by editing the code?

Is it possible to replace the ASbackgrounds with images?

Posted 3 months ago

eegrek,

Thanks for purchasing.

Keeping your content on the left side is pretty simple—if you don’t give it the instance name content_mc then the movie clip will just stay where ever you put it. So if you create a movie clip and put it on the left side it should just stay where you put it.

And to answer your second question, no unfortunately the file isn’t set up to work with images for the background—just the AS generated backgrounds.

can we use our own images?

tarikkavaz,

No unfortunately the file isn’t set up to work with images for the background—just the AS generated backgrounds. You can however experiment with the background generating parameters to create your own unique backgrounds.

I can only see the background if I resize my window. Also, the animation doesn’t work in the beginning. All I did was drag the cool backgrounds movie clip to the top left of my stage. Doesn’t seem to work unless I manually resize the window. Help

moosky13,

Sounds like you might not have the classpath set in your .fla file. Here it is from the help file:

In the Flash authoring tool Publish Settings, under the Flash tab, click “Settings” and make sure to set the classpath to “_classes”

Unfortunately Flash won’t tell you if it can’t find the right classes (at least not in AS2 ) so it’s a common problem. :) Hopefully the above will help. If not let me know. Cheers!

I checked that. I have the classpath set to “_classes” I also noticed that you had ”.” set in the classpath in your file. Also, I thought I saw that you had protect from import checked. I read earlier here that you said to make sure it’s unchecked. Is it supposed to be checked or unchecked? I’ve tried a combination of all of these. It seems to work but I have to resize the window for the background to show up. Of course your file doesn’t do that.

moosky13,

It shouldn’t matter whether protect from import is checked – that just protects other people from importing your swf file.

Does the original file work when you test it? Is it just the .fla that you are loading it into that is causing it not to work?

I did a quick test and made a new .fla and dropped my file into it. If the classpath isn’t set properly it behaves exactly as you describe – the animation doesn’t play and the background won’t show up until you resize it. That is because the tween class is not being loaded which is what makes it animate.

Double check your classpath again – make sure “Export frame for classes” is set to 1. Also make sure the path classpath says “_classes” without the quotes.

If you are still having trouble send me your .fla file at modular_flash [at] yahoo.com and I’ll take a look.

I will give that a try when I get home. Thanks for the quick response. I will let you know how it goes.

Pretty cool, but if this is AS can’t one just easily change the colors?

Furthermore If I purchase I just want the BG and none of the other fucntions I presume I can just drop the MC in my project, which used scale “TL”

Thanks for your time

dutchmarcus,

Yes you can easily change the colors and you shouldn’t have any trouble dropping it into your project.
