Easier to add links

A very simple and modern AS3 menu with a blur transition…

It’s VERY EASY to costumize all the colors, speed and items! You only have to edit this XML tags:

OVERCOLOR – choose the color of the clicked buttons

OUTCOLOR – choose the color of the buttons

SLIDEBARCOLOR – choose the color of the slider

BUTTONSSPACING – change the space between the buttons

SPEED – change the speed of the transition animations

SECTIONS – to add or remove buttons is as simple as editing the xml

Hello,

don’t know if i do anything wrong but the links in the xml-file http://www.flashden.net/user/lfdesign/portfolio do not work when i open the BlurMenu.html in the browser… ??

somebody had this problem yet?

.. i thought when its not working in the original data.. how can i make it work then??

Hey… just saw that i just have to uncomment a line in the actionsript to use the url-links…. but maybe u can help me with this:

i loaded this navigation from extern into another swf… when clicking the links this swf is suppposed to move to another frame .. is this possible and do u know how? do i only have to add script to the xml or do i have to change the actionsript, too?

... i really like this blurstyle =)

the file is fine. When I add ur flash file to my css and use as nav link on other pages the link indicator stays on the home link. So if you are on the menu page the link indicator is on the home button.

You have to be patient… These files don’t include full time support! The authors help only for good will…

About your problem: If you are using this menu with an html page I recommend you use it in another frame! If not you’ll have to know how to save a variable to send to flash for it to know where it’s located at the current time.

Just put your frame label on the xml… Then on the menuBtnClick event function put this:

gotoAndStop(e.target.link);

Hey… good to hear from u =) thx for the answer .. what i did is this:

in the as-file i replaced line 127 with this: //PUT MENU BUTTON ACTIONS HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gotoAndStop(e.target.link);

and in the xml-file i wrote this (only one example): Home home

hmmm. ... but its not working yet.. maybe “gotoAndStop” only navigates in within the BlurMenu.swf.. but i have the BlurMenu.swf loaded in an empty mc into my movie and from there it is supposed to jump between the frames in my movie ..

i only don’t know the way of writing the as for this and would be very happy if we find a way =))

nope, actually the navigation does not work then .. u can only see the green line and all the links are gone .. ??

Hey .. its me again .. still trying to make this work… i thought maybe u could look at my files so u can see how the navigation is loaded extern to the movie and then u might know of some script that would make the navigation be able to switch between the framelabels..

i left the actionscript-file in original because otherweise u would not see the navigation … try the index.html =)

i guess the problem is that “gotoAndStop(e.target.link);” does not work… the compiler says this is a “undefined method”...

do u have another idea how to do this?

Hey.. just wanted to check if u are still trying to help or not.. just because i reload this site for two days now hoping to maybe get a solution to use this navigation in a flash-website and not only to open URL ’S…. would be cool if u would try… or at least tell if u don’t want to.. (do the suggestions u made work with your data?—did u try?)
