AS3 RANDOM CLOUD GENERATOR

HomeBrowse CategoriesFlashAnimationsAS3 Random Cloud Generator

ActionScript 3.0 class to easily create realistic looking, completely random clouds for almost any sort of project. They don’t have to be simply white clouds on a blue sky either; you could even use it to make green poisonous gases in a dark room, or black clouds of smoke puffing out of a chimney. Documentation is included, and it’s simple to use; color is entirely controllable, various elements related to detail / quality are controllable, size is completely controllable, and it extends the Sprite class so anything related to the Sprite class (alpha, masking, etcetera) is completely controllable just like you would with any other AS3 Sprite. Also comes with the .FLA source for the preview.

This is an excellent file, especially if it’s all actionscript and no graphics. File size is great too. Any chance you have a version that works for AS2 ?

The clouds are entirely ActionScript. :)

I don’t have a version that works for AS2 right now sorry, but I do know AS2 , so I could easily code one in the future. ;)

forget as2… it’s becoming obsolete!

Thanks for the update lolSalad, I would most likely buy an AS2 version of this file. And given most of the files on here are AS2 , it might be worth considering.

Compelo, you may have a good point, but I still think we’re at least a year or two away from the majority of flash developers making the jump. The coding has changed so much it’s almost like learning a whole new language.

And yes, AS2 is obsolete… All my files are AS3 and they are selling well ;)

seifip: Some of us may want to incorporate these clouds with existing AS2 applications that we don’t want to rewrite.

I have 2 clients that would love to replace their image-driven clouds with existing AS2 pieces to shrink the file size.
