I think there is some problem in the file. I have 97 images and i putted in the gallery. If i want to see the first image it jumps to thumb nail number 43.

www.abpicture.com click on portfolio then select places. you will find the problem.

your help will be very appreciate

Dear DS – i have purchased this under a different username (honest!)

Im using the app on a touchscreen kiosk, so i have disabled the rollover funtion on the thumbnail menu (so it doesnt scroll).

This means i am controlling the images using the left and right buttons (on the images).

A thumbnail is highlighted to show which image you have selected, however once you go beyond the thumbnail area (8 with default settings) – you have no idea of knowing which thumbnail relates to which image.

Any ideas?

hrasheed Seems fine on my side, is the first image not suppose to be the cow-boy looking at the lake with the snow capped mountains in the background? I like what you’ve done with the gallery by the way

Hello,

First off, your work is great. I really appreciate what you’re doing for the community.

Secondly, I wanted to change the width of the menus. This is because I have a menu label that is longer then the allowed width and it gets cut off. In the flash mc file, I find where is says Menu_width (or something similar) but it does not seem to have an arbitrary size attached to it. Could you please help me to change it.

easygoinge You would have to manually change the clip for the menu and drop down to make it wider and extend the width of the text field by editing the FLA . Don’t resize the actual movie clips – go inside them until you get to the vector shape or text field and resize to the new width.

Hi easygoinge … love the gallery, its easy to customize. Just wondering, when we are on the final thumbnail in the list, how can we make it so clicking “Next” loops us over to the first thumbnail?

And vice versa, if we are on the first thumbnail and hit the “Back” button, how do we loop over to the last thumbnail?

i googled it and found that i must write “System.useCodepage = true ; “

I have purchased this gallery…..but the .fla is corrupted. It sends an error message. I have also tried extracting the files with winace as suggested by you but it doesnt work. Pls reply back and give the .fla for editing.

Hi Namrita, If you check back through this forum you will see that DigitalScience only responds to queries about once or twice a month. While you are waiting for him to reply, I suggest that you try downloading the files again. Given that this software has been sold 1825 times, it is not very likely to contain corrupted files. It is far more likely that the problem is at your end.

this little app would be perfect if it had a grid display option. where you can click to view all images in a grid, then click a thumbnail to view the image in normal view.

i find the tiny cumbersome image bar at the bottom to be a real bother with LOTS of photos.

Hi fmp, From reading past responses from DigitalScience, I suspect that his answer to your request will be that he would only add a non-trivial feature such as a grid display option if you were prepared to pay for a bespoke modification of the standard program.

However, the thought has just occurred to me that there is almost certainly another author on FlashDen or elsewhere who has produced a Flash image gallery program based on a grid that would meet your needs. Would it not then be possible to combine the feature set of both programs by having links from one to the other? Adding a link to a fla file is not difficult.

Please post back here if you give this idea a try and get good results.

I usually upload the images to the Google Picasa Album.

Hi clyncho, Using Flash CS4 , the primary actionscript code can be found under Symbol Definition(s) / gallery_mc / Actions: Frame 1.

clyncho, I didn’t have time to actually read the actionscript code when I made my last post. However, I have now done so and the setting for the maximum number of thumbnails displayed is shown very near the beginning (Line 17 in my version) as follows.

default_maxThumbs = 8;

one other thing. i need 2 galleries in my website. ive copied the fla and the xml and renamed them. ive also changed the AS to call the new xml file, but it still outputs a file called preview.swf, which overwrites the 1st gallery’s swf.

how can i change the name of the outputed swf file.

any help would be much appreciated.

Hi lalnallath, Look back for previous posts on this subject. I also wanted the image info to be displayed by default and digitalscience kindly posted some code to make this possible. It works perfectly for me, though you will have to make some other changes as well to ensure that the image info does not obscure the image.
