Advanced resizable scroll menu/gallery XML

  • simple to use , self-cointained movie clip, drag-and-drop ; just edit the xml file and you are ready .
  • real-time smooth resizing ; please drag the orange triangle to see how .
  • if using design sizing by hand , startup sizing by script , or real-time sizing , it always keeps aspect ratio correct .
  • resize can be disabled , colour can be changed , just edit the Library items , as described in the attached help file .
  • clean coding , descriptive help
  • only 20kb , AS2 !

  • cleaned up code – size down from 32kb to 20kb
  • faster and smoother animation
  • better image quality with smoothing used when rotated
  • CPU optimization – animations stop if no visible effect takes place
  • can perform both gotoAndPlay(frame) to a specified movie in the xml (eg. link=” _root.mcABC.someOther” frame=”2” ) and getURL .
  • configuration very very simple , takes very little time

Can I make the movie set to 1024 width? I know it can.. but do I have full screen menu pictures (8 or 9)? I want lesser scroll but more static pictures with the bottom-up descriptions. Its a great menu! Where can I set a target=”content”. Thanks flashstar.

Hi Milian ! you can resize it to any size , statically ( at design time , and/or at runtime ) , or you can adjust it real-time , as seen in the demo . It will rescale the pictures correctly , and if the total scaled widths is close or equal to the width of the scaled menu/gallery , it will actually stop scrolling . It doesn’t matter how big the pictures are , you whould only be aware of their size in kilobytes , so they load quick . The target=”content” as you say , is in the xml file attached that you should put in the same folder as the swf file . Editing the xml configuration file is very simple , and is fully explained in the .doc file attached. Thank you , and I hope you will use it in a great project .

Hi Flashstar, Great, great. I have fix the witdh on 1024. So the text size of the picture depends on the width of the photo. Two questions: 1. How can I start the menu at te top/left of the movie? (dragging gives wrong dimentions etc) 2. Where can I change the color of the title of the photo and the description tekxt. Milian.

Hi Milian , thank you 1. as far as I can see , the total size of the pictures is smaller than 1024 , so a little space appears on the left. you should increase the height of the scroller’s component instance to compensate . I posted an update that is pending approval and you should re-download it for free when it gets approved . You drag it over your project , set it’s X and Y to 0 , 0 and it starts at top/left. 2. open the Library / open _container_primitives folder in the library / double click the _container_caption movie clip in the library . there appear two textboxes , and empty one – the title and one that contains the text “loading” – the caption ; here you can change thier colour ; you can change the colour of the background here too . Hi realwebdesigns and CTU . The answer is yes you can load animated flash files into the gallery and they look pretty cool . Tested with my contact form ( see my other files ) . I already answered you on email .
