Due to long waiting times I am no longer providing support for this item. I recommend buying one of my other carousels, for which I do provide support.

This one’s an image viewer with an actionscript based rotation, the images are being loaded from an xml file with a simple piece of code in it:

It will automatically set the right positions for each photo when you add more. Number of photos is unlimited.

You can change variables such as xspan and yspan to change the radius of the circle movement, and in the thumb mc you can change the image’s width and height just by changing the w and h variables.

When you click a thumb, the image will be opened in a new browser window.

Hi! I have two questions: first, how do I change the rotation orientation from vertical to horizontal; second, how do I control the axis rotation when the mouse shifts left to right?

Jurgenv you can get notified of comments by using your comments RSS feed as we’ve mentioned in the forums.

Every author gets notified of comments posted on their files. Whether or not they’re checking is another story. RSS lets you know when there is new comments so it’s not hard or time consuming.

Hi Jurgen,

Is it possible to link to another swf, or _root instead of an http link with your file. I’m not familiar enough with XML to know if I can customize your files as I need to. If I can open a high res version of the thumbnail images in a _root swf, I definitly will purchase your slider.

Firstly, great file – secondly, a question:

I have an issue with my images going crazy when I click off the screen (say to another application) and Im guessing it’s because the swf can’t find the mouse. Do you have a version of this (or are maybe thinking of making a version of this) with a mouse listener that stops the animation when you click off the screen?

Any help would be much appreciated :)

this looks perfect. thank you. one question…i am going to be using this as navigation within a flash movie. will it be easy to find the AS code to have it load a SWF or move to a specific frame or movie clip?

Moaguilar: No problem, there’s just one button that says getURL(), so rightnow it visits a URL . You can delete the getURL line and write gotoAndStop there, and still use the same argument defined in the xml file.

Warren: In the photo_th movieclip in the actionscript on the first two lines it says w= something and h= something, you can change these numbers for width and height.

Alex: I don’t have that problem and i can’t think of any reason to have it be like that… sorry.

Jurgenv,

Hey I bought your horizontal carousel a while back and I am in need for a vertical one like you have here. On the other file you sent me a change (viewer_subtitle) change so it would show the name of the file under the image. Can you do the same here? Or can I change the “CarouselDesigner v1” to move vertically?

Also, I am having the same problem that Alex was having with your carousel’s – images going crazy when I click off the screen (say to another application) the carousel speeds up to where the images are unrecognizable. This is reason why I needed your change on viewer_subtitle where it only rotated once. This happens when using a Macintosh computer with Safari or Firefox as a browser. It doesn’t do it on a Windows machine…

Can something be written to your files that may have a mouse listener that stops the animation when you click off the screen?

If so I could use this file also and buy it…

Hi, this carousel is very old and doesn’t support things like subtitles, and the other carousel is not easy to turn vertical. I’m sorry.

The other thing: i tried doing things with mouse listeners once but when the cursor is already outside the swf it won’t respond to the listener anymore so that won’t work…

Hi Jurgenv,

Your file is something I am looking to buy for use in my work. I have a question though, is it possible to activate the carousel when I roll over a static frame? Something like this:

1. Starting Position: There are 5 items placed next to each other (in one movie clip) 2. Action: When you rollover the movie clip, the carousel with these items activates and shows 3. Rollout: On rollout the carousel stops and items are back into starting position.

I’d appreciate your quick response.

Hi MRM , I’m sorry, that would be a lot of additional coding which I can’t explain in a few lines. And I don’t have time to modify the file for you. You might want to find someone around flashden to do it for you.

Hi, great slideshow! Couple of questions: is it possible to use transparent .pngs (when I try, they just show up as empty yellow boxes instead of images), and how do you create links for each of the images? Thanks!
