Hello, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me out by taking a look at my portfolio website and letting me know what you think. It isn’t completely done yet, but I mostly wanted to know what you thought about the navigation and overall look and feel.

Go to this link: www.redpandadesign.webs.com

Thanks,

Dave

In your help (top left), you spelt navigatE incorrectly and I also feel that no flash site is complete without a custom context menu with fullscreen toggle :p

looks good love the design but i would add 2 things. 1.ability to move the site around with the arrow keys and 2. change the mouse movement so its a smooth click and drag instead of you having to click in a corner

I found myself not knowing where to go. I wish the question mark tab would be open when the site loads, stay a few seconds, then close. I like how the tab is interactive, but I wish it was more of an animation so people could just glance at it and see what it is.

This suggestion would be a major change, but I think it would be worth it. Rather than having four hit areas on click determine the angle and distance from the center. That way no matter where they click they are going in the right direction. If that is too complex, put your hit areas at a 45 degree angle. That way you can move right, left, up down. I think that would be more natural than how it is now.

I am not in love with the font, though that is just a style preference.

I really think this is a great concept and is really close to being an awesome site. Good luck.

Hey thanks every one for the suggestions and encouragement. I am really happy with this project so far and I will post again when I have finished it.

About dxc381’s suggestion to use the mouse’s angle and distance from center of the stage to create my navigation. I have tried to figure this out and didn’t have any luck. My problem is all of the navigation is scripted Tweens. So I would need to figure out how to convert an angle to an x and y number.

If any one knows about this or can point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.

to anyone with a large resolution your base image in the .html portions of the site deosn’t extend all the way to the bottom so you might want to fade to a solid color and set your ‘bgcolor’ to that hex value.
