I purchased both a Flash into and Flash template from here.

The text in the flash into was set to Static Text. But, in the template the text was set to Dynamic Text. I thought it was better to use Static text, is this right? Is this the more universal text to use?

In the template I purchsed, would it make any difference if I switched it to Static or is it better to leave it as is?

Also, what is auto kern? I am just wondering because in the template, the box isn’t checked, but I want to know what I need to check to make sure I can make changes to the text (like make some letters italic, increase the size of some words, etc…;) Is this auto kern or Render as HTML ? Selectable?

None of these are clicked on and when I couldn’t get the text to go italic, I started clicking on everything. lol

One last thing, if I want to link more than one word on a page, what do I need to make sure is checked? I tried linking a few different lines (that were not supposed to be going to the same address), but they were all reading the same URL , even though I tried changing it.

Thanks

Static text cannot be changed once the Flash animation has been published. Dynamic text can be changed at any time via actionscript. Static text will embed its characters automatically, while dynamic text must have its characters embedded manually.

Kerning refers to the space that is put between letters based on their shape. Without kerning, letters can appear to be unevenly spaced. Honestly i can’t say for sure what Auto Kern does, but i believe it is used when the text is resized.

“Selectable” just determines whether or not the user can select the text with their mouse.

“render as HTML ” treats the text as HTML . There are limits to what tags Flash will recognize, but all of the basic ones are there.
