I have a great flash document I bought from here.

I cut down an image I wanted to use in the flash file, it was small enough so it should fit right in.

I went to file ->import to stage

When I did this, it looked fine in the work area, but when I published the file, the jpg image I imported became blurry and expanded bigger than what size I imported it in as.

How do I fix this problem? I am new at flash and cannot figure out how to import an image and keep it the same size. I tried going to the preview settings, but I changed the wrong thing there and it messed up the file, so I have to start all over.

Please help! If anyone knows how I change the settings of JUST the item I import to the stage, please let me know..

Of if there is another way to do this, please let me know.

Thank you!

I’m really not sure how to exactly direct this to you, but it would help if you pointed out which file you bought. And if you explained the process of your editing then there could be some insight as to how to resolve the issue.

If you bought a file that resizes an image with code, it is most likely that the image is inside a movie clip and that movie clip resizes to the specs of the code’s settings. But, if your image was not converted or placed inside a movie clip then this is a strange situation indeed.

keep in mind also that flash only exports so many colors so if its a super high quality picture that could be the problem. its like in photoshop when you make a high quality image then export it as a .jpg it looks very different.

How do I import the image to make sure it’s not in the movie clip?

This is what I am using:

http://www.flashden.net/files/37407/index.html

i’m deleting the words and adding an image, but the image is getting stretched out for some reason. I’ve gone into the library, double clicked on the image icon and when I tried the different options there, it still didn’t look good. Even when I put a check in the box that said “smooth” it still doesn’t look clear.

The image is being stretched to the size of the background I think (gray area).

How do I properly import an image into that area.. I am stuck. In the work area when I am in flash, it looks fine, but when I publish it, the image stretches.

I’m really new to flash and don’t know much. Thanks

Make sure your jpg is 72dpi… I’ve had that problem in the past, but don’t remember exactly why it happened, but check the dpi. If you image is sized exactly it should show up the way you want. If you have the image within a movie clip that is scaled up, it would scale the image as well… Not sure if that’s the case.
