It’s just the way the cookie rolls – if someone comes up with a fresh new idea and it sells well one week – what happens next week? Suddenly there are 3 similar files to that popular file. If something is in demand and it’s selling, other authors are going to make those files because it almost always guarantees sales. But I agree – the best way to see creativity and originality is with ‘Premium’ files.

I agree with eirehotspur for the quality issue. I don’t mind if there are 50+ very similar gallery’s , but there are a lot of gallery’s that are very badly developed… flashDen is becoming like flashKit , files on flashKit are free , and for a good reason….
If you look at the files on ultrashock.com they have a very good, quality library….
There are a lot of files here that are easily broken , by resizing a browser window , or clicking on images while other images are loading. That is simply unprofessional.

That is true – when I’m checking out new files I like to see if I can break it by clicking randomly on menu items and resizing the browser or clicking on stuff while other stuff is loading or animating and a lot of the time glitches pop up or stuff breaks completely needing a page refresh to get it back to normal. I do these tests with my own files too and most of the time you can iron out all the bugs before uploading. I think more authors should do these tests because you’re going to save yourself from alot of headaches later when buyers find those glitches you missed.

We have had so many threads discussing this issue…we aren’t all amazing designers and programmers

I stopped uploading last month after starting at Dell.

I may continue to release new files in months to come, and for now I have simply been keeping up with support comments and emails.

Best month yet in sales here though for October by 200% so far!
