Does anyone know of any programs that convert flash into a screensaver? If there is a free open source one floating arround that would be great.

You could try this http://www.tucows.com/preview/217082 .. its shareware, though i’ve never used it. At my old job we used a paid program but i’ve forgotten what its called.

Actually we considered having a screensaver section on FlashDen, but the idea of people uploading EXE files was a bit too scary for us :-)

hey W, try this program call “FlashSaverMaker” this is what they clam:

(With FlashSaverMaker you can create Screensaver from a .swf and another .swf for the options sheet. This .swf can sendAndLoad vars or xml with method “POST” and FlashSaverMaker will write it to the configVars file. Very simple but very effective. Really nice for Actionscript lovers.)

you can download a free version HERE .

you need to have a mac tho

i spotted that, but i think that free version mentions non comercial use only, which means no mass distribution… so i can’t use it..

I’ve gone with Creator, by flashjester.com its not too expensive, and out of al the ones i tried it had better quality.

Your best bet is screenweaver OS. It’s free as in beer and a great open source project

thats a great looking program.. i had a go and it didn’t seem able to make me a screensaver.. might have been the content of the swf though. i’ll have to read the readme. Regardless of how it works though, the whole process of using the thing was so much easier. Open source is great.

http://www.goldshell.com/flashforge/

Found it the other day as I have the exact same problem….or had rather ;)

Tried Screeweaver but boy what a steep learning curve that was!!

Flashforge is free now, zero limitations as far as I can work out. You can even script the installer.

Very simple to use etc.
