Hey all,

i just wanted to ask the mods if it would be a good idea to change the currency that flashden/audio jungle deals with. Specially for us in the UK dollars are really weak. Also against euros its very weak.

So can we kinda do a website vote to see what currency we can deal with on flashden?

hope to hear some views on this!

This has been discussed many times before, and I agree that with the dollar’s slow and steady devaluation over the years it would make sense if we switched to euro’s. But it comes down to the buyers which the majority are American hence why we are still using dollars. Eventually euro’s will become the international trading currency so FlashDen should follow suit when this happens.

Yup.. the issue has been hashed and rehashed here on the boards over the past year. A large number of authors were quite outspoken over switching currencies ( for obvious reasons on the surface, but whether sales would stay at the same level with another currency is another question )

Still, the buyers define the market now, and a significant majority are in the USA as far as I know..

So yeah, since the dollar still hasnt completely eroded..It’s probably staying here for a while, as far as what staff has told everyone.

..at the moment we dont really know the US/non US buyers ratio so we cant say forget about it.

Staff knows the ratios.. we don’t. Gotta trust their judgment :)
