I think after 5000 files everything has been done – we’re all running out of ideas now
Naw, there’s always a new “wheel” to invent or a new way to “slice” bread. Speaking as a “buyer” (mostly) and not a seller, the field is still wide open. I rarely find “exactly” what I’m looking for, so I think there is room for more files here, but… the searching feature needs an upgrade. I know it’s not easy to organize all of these files, but if FD could figure out a way to tweak the search engine or help authors submit there info (so it’s more search engine friendly), I think the market place on FD for creative work would explode. One example that might help:
I use a lot of RSS on my website. I’ve been hitting FD for months with searches like “rss” “rss tickers” “rss readers” “new tickers” etc… but the other day I started scrolling through some of the files manually (page by page) and found several files that I’d never seen before. I bought one of them and it worked out great, so…. maybe FD and the authors already know this, but FD search engine placement is hugh!
and to further encourage the authors: I think the web is growing with site owners just like me. I can program html and even do some cool stuff with flash, but I can’t (and don’t have time to figure out how to) code the more advanced db and scripting features like rss, custom shopping carts, web gui’s, etc… The word about FD is just starting to break in the “newbie, I own a website, but really don’t know what I’m doing” crowd, lol… I think FD will become a haven for more and more guys like me. SO KEEP CODING ! lol… The buyers will come, I promise…
