APOLOGY TO VIDEO AUTHORS...

Sorry guys, I have been slacking on reviewing for 2 days…had a few personal things come up that has been consuming my time when I’m not at my day job. And then work during my day job has been a little intense. I am able to moderate the forum, but not able to devout a few hours towards reviewing. I will have some things to do tonight, but I will make a valiant effort at clearing the queue some point tonight…probably later on around midnight.

So again, sorry guys, it’s gotten pretty large, and I am quite impressed with the amount of uploads, really glad to see some quality videos coming in at a steady pace. Just wanted to make you all aware of my situation.

I agree with baf to an extent. Its good to see the number of video files on the rise, but I was really hoping to see more authors move toward building really great files, more AE projects etc, that are extensive in both their production as well as their potential use. Im not saying every file has to be complicated, but it would be good to see the thought process that has gone into a files creation. A file really stands out when you can see how the author has designed it for the intended client base (mainly flash users in this case) and done something that gives the file an ‘edge’. I would rather see 10 new files a week that are $10 or more, and really add to the value of the FD video section, than 50 $2 transitions or backgrounds that are more of the same. Its files like bafs AE title and transition project file that are needed to raise the status of the video section toward the level of the flash section. Think of it this way…the flash section has hundreds, if not thousands, of $2 preloaders but it also has really awesome files like triworks v3 website template. The video section has hundreds of $2 particle effects etc…now we need our v3 website template equivalents.
