1 xml for different languages

Hi there,

Is there anybody who has (or can write) a flash template (for sale) with following possibilities:

The swf needs to be embedded in different html- pages (each a different language). In the embed code is specified which language needs to be invoked. The information needs to be taken out of 1 xml file, in which the different languages are specified. This principle should make it easy to add new languages.

- 1 swf for multiple languages. - 1 xml- file with multiple languages specified in it - according to the language that is invoked, the swf gets data (of corresponding language) out of the xml- file.

Hope anybody can help me with this one!

Hi!

I think that I understand that you want to have a website that uses a language the user chooses on the first page. Then you want to link the user to the right site..

What I would do is that I would include everything into one XML file and then load the corresponding part of it in the flash file’s settings, non-static textfields..

it would look something like this:

Also, it would keep your number of HTML files relatively low and decrease traffic on you pages. —make you save time and money Then you would have three or more options depending on the XML in your SWF that let the user choose. Write a simple function for the options to filter from the XML file and put them into the corresponding spaces in your .FLA and .SWF file.

Hi Niels,

Thanks for your reply and suggestion! I’m gonna be a bit more specific on this one: - It concerns a multilanguage site indeed! I want to use one swf which is embedded in an html page for each languages. The content of the swf is a team- presentation (with picture, tel. nr.,... information in general). - Let’s say for instancewhen I’m on the Dutch page the swf needs to get the information out of a specific part of the xml file.
